TBM offers MOT tests for:

  • Class IV cars, vans and motorhomes (normal saloon cars, small vans)
  • Class VII (larger vans over 3000kg)
Your vehicle may be tested up to 30 days prior to expiry date

For example Mot expiry date 4th May 2014 – this means that your vehicle can be tested anytime from 5th April 2014 without losing any days – the new expiry date will be 5th May 2015.

On your current MOT certificate the earliest date you can present your vehicle for test is stated for preserving the anniversary of the expiry date.

If your vehicle is 3 years old or more, you are required by law to have an annual safety check – the MOT test

This is to ensure that your vehicle meets the minimum safety level required by law.

When does my car need an MOT?

All vehicles after they are 3 years old from date of 1st registration and every 12 months after that by law

It is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle has an MOT test every 12 months.

Without an MOT certificate, your vehicle licence (tax disc) cannot be renewed and your car may not be insured.

When making your MOT appointment, please make sure you provide your mobile phone number. We will then set up the free service to remind you of your MOT expiry date. The reminder will be sent via text message to your mobile phone prior to expiry next year.
